GHANA LEADERS’ SEMINAR – SEPT 10 – 14, 2011

Dear Brethren,

 Greetings in Christ.

The next Ghanaian Leaders' seminar will be conducted by Bro. Obire and will be held at the home of Bro. Samuel Amoo in Kumasi from Saturday, September 10, 2011 -Wednesday, September 14, 2011.

All brethren are expected to arrive at the seminar before it starts and with the exception of the two teachers who may leave on Monday afternoon, all other brethren are expected to remain until the end of the seminar.

As was the case during Bro. Joe Dolan's visit in July, we shall continue with the brethren leading studies instead of giving discourses utilizing Joy Cometh in the Morning and the accompanying questions noted below in this letter for that purpose. Assignments will be based upon Study IV, "Our Lord's Return."

Below is an Internet link for the study if you do not have a hard copy of the booklet. If you have a copy of the blue hardcover book, the chapter runs from pages 22 -29.The Internet page numbering is different from the hard copy of the booklet because the entire chapter of this study on the Internet runs from pages 9-12 but you will be able to match the paragraphs up with the booklet after the pages are run off. If there is any question concerning this matter, pilgrim brethren should kindly notify me. Here is the link to click in order to locate this information on the Internet.

 "Joy Cometh in the Morning"

Ques. 19:     What nations besides Israel are mentioned by name and promised restitution?  (Page 27, par. 2.)

Ques. 20:     How do we know the Sodomites did not have a full chance for salvation?  (Page 27, par. 3 to Page 28 top.)

Ques.  23:    In view of God’s glorious plans for the future, what should be the attitude of every true Christian respecting the second advent of Jesus – the first step in providing blessings for the world of mankind?  (Page 28, par. 3 to page 29.)

Also, to enhance your study, each leader should be prepared with relevant scriptures to help promote an understanding of the paragraphs assigned for his study. The following references from "An Epitome of the Faith Once Delivered Unto the Saints" on this same subject should be helpful to you in your study. This is yet another instance where it will be evident as to what degree the pilgrim brethren have been effective in helping leaders they have recommended in their area prepare for their assignment.

NOTE

Brethren who wish to return to their homes may do so after lunch.

Bro. Moses Obire leaves for Accra at 11 p.m. local time so as to catch his flight to Lagos early next morning.

On DAY TWO there will be a Panel Discussion on the Topic PATIENCE. The Pilgrim brethren will be the discussants and the following will be the Questions for them to guide the discussion. All five Pilgrim brethren are going to answer these questions, so they are expected to study the Material on Patience in the Character Development Book pages 137 through 160.

 QUESTIONS

  1. What is Patience? What does the word mean?
  2. Scripturally, what is the deeper meaning of Patience?
  3. Why is Patience very essential in a Christian, especially in elders or leaders?
  4. We have heard it said, “Be Patient toward All”, how can we do this successfully?
  5. In Titus 2:2 and 2 Timothy 3:10, Apostle Paul seems to rank Patience above Love, why?
  6. In 1 Timothy 3:3 The Apostle Paul shows what Patience is to an Elder. Can you explain this for us to understand what the Apostle is telling us?
  7. There is a possibility of perverting the grace of Patience. Please explain how this can happen?
  8. Evidently, Patience is a MUST for all the Consecrated, so how can we cultivate this fruit of the Spirit?

Please let me know whether you have any questions concerning the foregoing.

Finally, the pilgrims are kindly requested to notify each of the brethren in their respective areas

who do not have email concerning their assignment as well as other matters included in this message.

May the dear Lord bless your preparation for this important spiritual occasion.

By His Grace,
Bro. Homer
